Succession of the Triad of the Fourth Degree with the Sixth Chord of the Fifth Degree

§18. — 1) The bass moves by a descending diminished fifth, and not by an ascending augmented fourth.

2) In the sixth chord of the fifth degree, double the root or the fifth of the root.

3) Each of the three upper parts moves by a second or a third.

4) If a fifth occurs among the three upper parts of the chord of the fourth degree, then in the sixth chord only the fifth of the root may be doubled.
