The Triad of the Third Degree of the Major Mode

§ 31. — 1) Use it to harmonize the second tetrachord of the major scale descending, when this tetrachord lies in the melody:

2) Place it after the triad of the first or of the sixth degree, connecting it harmonically.

3) After the chord of the third degree, place that of the fourth, connecting them melodically:
