Read and hear this section in the playable edition →5) The indirect anticipation, or escape note (**). These are dissonances left without resolution, which are sometimes also called exchanged notes. Most often they can be explained by the omission of one or more passing notes, or by the possibility of their belonging to the following chord:

6) The suspension that is prepared but left by a leap (most often it is the ninth).

Since good use of these last free ornaments (5-6-8) is rather difficult, we advise the student to use them sparingly.
