Suspension of the diminished octave or of the augmented unison

In certain cases, e.g. in chromatic modulation in minor, in the deceptive cadence in major, in the half cadence in minor, with a chromatic passing note, etc., the diminished seventh chord may produce a suspension forming a diminished octave with the bass:

2) By changing the arrangement of the parts, there may result a rarely used suspension forming an augmented unison:

The alto holds G as a suspension while the soprano rises from G to G sharp, forming an augmented unison; the alto then falls to F and E, the soprano rises to A
